FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Bookings
-
Easy! If you want to book for a DJ you will need to request a quote. Hit the ‘Request a quote’ button, fill in your event details, and I'll get back to you with availability and a quote. Once you're happy, a $250 deposit locks in your date and we're officially booked! 🖤
-
Yes — once your $250 deposit is received AND you have signed our DJ Hire Contract, your date is locked and off the market. Until then, the date is still available to other clients, so don't sit on it too long!
-
The earlier the better, especially for weekends and peak periods. Popular dates (NYE, long weekends, Silly Season and Wedding Season) can book out months in advance. If you're planning something within 7 days, a rush fee applies — but I'll always do my best to make it work!
-
Unfortunately no — a deposit and confirming our DJ hire contract is the only way to secure your date. I get lots of enquiries and I can't hold dates without one. So once you're ready, we can lock it in fast!
Payment
-
A flat $250 deposit is required to confirm your booking. This is non-refundable, as it takes your date off the market and covers my preparation time.
-
Your final balance is due 14 days before your event. I'll send you a reminder so it doesn't sneak up on you. You can find the exact due date on your Booking Confirmation.
-
Yes! Pay your balance within 48 hours of receiving your invoice and you'll receive a 10% discount on the remaining balance. It's my way of rewarding clients who are quick off the mark — and honestly, it just makes life easier for both of us. 🤍
-
By default, all balances are due 14 days before the event. Post-event payment may be available for corporate or business clients by prior written agreement only — just ask when booking and we can discuss.
-
We accept Stripe, Paypal, Apple Pay, Google Pay & Credit/Debit Cards. All amounts are in AUD and your invoice will outline everything clearly.
travel
-
Travel within 30km of Brisbane is included in your quote — no extras. Beyond that, a travel fee applies and will be itemised in your quote before you commit. Toll roads and parking costs may also be passed on where applicable.
-
Absolutely! For events outside my standard radius, I'll provide a quote that includes travel, accommodation, and any other associated costs upfront.
Pricing & Fees
-
Some dates are in higher demand than others, and pricing reflects that. I use a three-tier peak period structure so it's always fair and transparent:
🎄 Tier 1 — Silly Season (November & December), Long Weekends & Public Holidays → +30% on base booking fee
🎅 Tier 2 — Christmas Eve & Christmas Day (24–25 December) → +40% on base booking fee
🥂 Tier 3 — New Year's Eve (31 December) → +50% on base booking fee
Where dates overlap, the higher tier applies — surcharges are never stacked. Peak pricing is always disclosed upfront in your quote before you commit to anything.
-
No — peak period surcharges are non-negotiable and non-waivable. They reflect genuine market demand and the premium nature of those dates. The good news is they'll always be clearly disclosed in your quote before you commit, so you'll know exactly what you're signing up for.
-
If your date could fall under more than one tier, the higher tier surcharge applies. Surcharges are never stacked or combined — you'll only ever be charged one peak period rate, and it'll always be clearly shown in your quote upfront.
-
If you're booking within 7 days of your event, a two-tier rush fee applies to cover the extra hustle involved in getting everything sorted on short notice:
• Within 7 days (but more than 48 hours) → 15% of your total booking fee
• Within 48 hours → 30% of your total booking fee
The rush fee is on top of your normal booking fee and is non-refundable once confirmed. Full payment is also required upfront for all rush bookings — the standard 14-day payment window doesn't apply. Still subject to availability, so reach out ASAP! ⚡
-
Yes — for all rush bookings (within 7 days of the event), full payment of the total booking fee plus the applicable rush fee is required at the time of booking. The standard 14-day balance due date doesn't apply for last-minute requests. This ensures everything is locked in and I can get straight into prep mode for your event!
-
If you want to keep the party going past your agreed finish time, overtime is available at $200/hr. Just let me know on the night — I'll always try to accommodate where possible!
CANCELLATIONS & Changes
-
I totally understand that plans can change — life is unpredictable! Here's exactly how it works:
• More than 90 days out → $250 deposit forfeited, remaining balance refunded in full ✅
• 30–90 days out → $250 deposit forfeited + 25% of total booking fee payable. If you've paid in full, you'll get 75% of your balance back.
• Less than 30 days out → $250 deposit forfeited + 50% of total booking fee payable. If you've paid in full, you'll get 50% of your balance back.
All cancellations must be in writing. In some circumstances I may be able to offer a credit toward a future booking instead — just reach out and we'll work through it together.
-
No — the $250 deposit is strictly non-refundable under all circumstances. Once it's paid, your date is locked and taken off the market, which means I turn away other enquiries for that date. The deposit covers that commitment, plus my preparation time and admin. Everything is clearly outlined before you book so there are no surprises.
-
Yes! Every booking includes one free date change, subject to availability — but the reschedule request must be submitted in writing at least 30 days before your original event date. If your new date falls in a peak period, peak period pricing will apply. A second date change request would be treated as a cancellation and new booking, so full cancellation fees would apply.
-
I know last-minute cancellations are rarely a choice — if something serious has happened, please reach out directly. I approach every situation with common sense and empathy, and I'll always try to find a solution where I reasonably can. The earlier you communicate with me, the more options we have.
-
Yes — depending on when you cancel, you may be entitled to a partial refund of your balance. Here's how it works if you've paid in full:
• 90+ days out → Full balance refunded (deposit kept)
• 30–90 days out → 75% of your balance refunded
• Under 30 days → 50% of your balance refunded
Refunds are processed after deducting all amounts owed. The $250 deposit is never refunded.
Just a heads up — some extras (like live bands, photo booths, or other third-party add-ons) come from external suppliers who have their own cancellation policies. This means if you cancel, some add-ons might only be partially refundable, or not refundable at all.
-
In the unlikely event that I have to cancel (emergencies only!), you'll receive a full refund of all monies paid — including your deposit. I also have the right to arrange a qualified substitute DJ in emergency situations — I'll always communicate with you quickly and transparently if this ever occurs.
The Event
-
Yes, please! I love knowing your vibe, favourite songs, and anything that's off the table. Share your requests ahead of time and I'll do my absolute best to work them in. Final song selection is at my professional discretion to keep the floor pumping, but your preferences are always front of mind.
-
I bring as part of the standard package - DJ Controller, Lighting Bar, DJ Booth & 2 x Alto Speakers & EV Subwoofer w/ Column Speaker along with safe electricals to support the equipment. All I need is a power outlet and a safe space to set up & play.
If your venue has specific requirements or you need something extra, let me know when booking and we can sort it out.
-
I'll need access to adequate power points, a safe and level performance area, and for the venue to comply with any applicable noise restrictions. I'll confirm all technical requirements with you ahead of the event.
-
I work within all venue and council noise restrictions — no drama. Just let me know about any limits ahead of time so I can plan accordingly. I'm not liable if a venue enforces a volume cut during the event, but I'll always work with what I've got to keep the energy up!
We also offer silent disco as part of our Additional Services if you think this might impact your night
